Steps to Lighting the Backflow Incense Burner
Remember the burner use only the specially designed cones called backflow cones. The cones have the predrilled holes at their center.
1. Choose your choice
These burners exist in different designs and colors. Choose the design bearing the shape of an animal or scenery that pleases you. It could be one that blends with your room environment. After which choose the backflow cone that matches that burner.
2. How to hold the cone
Hold the cone in one hand the lighter in the other hand. To give you the right position of lighting it, tilt the cone sideways slightly. It makes lighting it very simple
3. Lighting the cone
With the cone still tilted sideways, ignite the lighter and bring it towards the pointed end of the cone. Then hold it briefly for about 5 to 10 seconds. When it starts to glow, detach the lighter and switch it off.
4. Should it burn with a flame or glow?
At first, the cone will burn with a flame for seconds. Then eventually the fame will go off giving way to a glow. But if the flame doesn’t go off, then blow it or fan it off.
Positioning the cone on the burner
For the smoke to go down the burner it must sit appropriately on the burner. If you turn the cone upside down, you will notice a hole drilled at the center. Likewise, on the burner, there is also a predrilled hole. Let the hole on the cone rest on top of the hole on the burner. Only in such a manner will the burner emit the smoke trailing downwards.
Where to Place the Backflow Burner
Ideally, it should be lit in a calm indoor environment. For example bedroom, living room or best still the yoga room. The still air environment lets the cone burn for the longest time possible. At the same time, it doesn’t interfere with the downward flow of the smoke.
With that said, follow the below tips to find the correct place for the burner.
Rest it on a stable ground
Most burners are made of ceramic material. Meaning they are very fragile. So put it in a place where it won’t trip off and fall. Preferably rest it on the cemented floor. In addition, keep off high traffic areas where someone can knock it down and break it into pieces. At the same time keep away children and pets.
Prior to throwing away any remaining cone, extinguish it properly before disposal.
