GLOBAL SHAMAN CEDAR

The cedar tree has been revered for its spiritual significance for thousands of years. Its wood was used for the doors of sacred temples and burned in cleansing ceremonies for purification. Cedar has a long history of use in indigenous sweat lodge ceremonies and the tree was thought to house important gods and to be an entrance to higher spiritual realms.

Global Shaman Native smudges are sustainably harvested by Native Peoples.  A portion of sales supports a Native reservation cooperative, and initiative that is providing hope for a community in poverty.  The different herbs used in our smudges are grown and harvested by Native people in a sustainable manner that preserves their natural habitat.  Our smudges are packaged in biodegradable bags, with eco-friendly handtabs, in keeping with our commitment to the environment.   For centuries smudging, the burning of aromatic herbs, has been believed to release the beneficial properties of each plant.
